The end of the 2002-03 school year for students was marked with a closing communion service on June 4th. The Five-Year-Old Kindergarten students planned the prayer service and actively led prayer by reading, offering prayers of petition and thanksgiving, and joining in a special song in appreciation of friends. Special Friends of Holy Angels School, our many volunteers, were recognized are were hosted to a Thanks-A-Brunch following the communion service.
Junior High science teacher Mary Maeder was recognized for her 21 years of service to Holy Angels as she retires from the fulltime teaching ministry. Third grade teacher Linda Doll also received recognition for her 25 years of service to our school. Both teachers received mementos along with stack of cards from students and families. Later in the day, the faculty presented Mrs. Maeder with personal gifts and wishes for an enjoyable “retirement”.
