“Jesus came and stood in their midst and said to them,
‘Peace be with you.’ As the Father has sent me, so I send you… receive the Holy Spirit.” Jn 20:19-22
“If we live in the Spirit, let us also follow the Spirit.” Gal 5:25
The theme for the 2017-18 school year is: “Come Holy Spirit…You Are Welcome Here”. During the past school year, we sought to “build a house where love can grow”. It is in this renewed dwelling place that the Spirit can come alive in our school, our parish, our community, and our world. But first, each person must be open to receive and welcome the Spirit, so as to live in the Spirit.
In his letter to the Galatians, Paul reminds those who believe of the bountiful fruits that come from following the Spirit. They include: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. These are the blessings that we can bring to our world by welcoming the Spirit, living in the Spirit, and sharing the Spirit with others.
