The Holy Angels fifth graders participated in the D.A.R.E. Graduation recently. It was a celebration of the learning that had taken place over several weeks, of the support students receive from the community, and of the commitment of students to s drug-free lifestyle.
Members of the West Bend community and Sheriff’s Department participated in the ceremony which included student essays about what was learned in the program. Students also sang the theme song for the program for their many guests.
With the support of fifth grade teacher Chris Thelen, Deputy Bill Niehus taught the students many aspects of drugs and skills necessary to be successful in living drug-free. The graduation celebration concluded with the traditional signing of D.A.R.E. shirts and refreshments.
