The 30th annual Famous Friday Fish Fry and Gifts from the Heart Raffle saw a full dining room (actually two rooms) and a gym-full of potential raffle winners as the community came out to support Holy Angels School. The all-you-can-eat fish fry featured fried cod as well as baked cod and diner raved about their meal. The dessert buffet again offered a wide array of homemade (mostly) delights.
Amid the sounds of the Acme Fiddling Company, raffle participants filled the over 125 buckets for a chance to win prizes such as a flat screen television, Colorado condo vacations, tuition, cash, and a variety of donated items for young and old alike. The silent auction also provided some excitement as bidders attempted to enter the highest bid for items created by Holy Angels students and sports memorabilia such as a framed Christian Yelich autographed photo.
The evening certainly captured the sense of community and family that is characteristic of Holy Angels. Volunteers, both adults and students, contributed to the success of the evening as did all who donated items or purchased raffle tickets.
