The Holy Angels Parents Activities Committee sponsored an evening of fun for school families at LacLawrann recently. The evening gave families an opportunity to explore the local nature center as they completed a scavenger hunt before the sun went down.
Other activities included stations with wildlife information such as the wingspan of several birds, the tracks left by several different animals, and the characteristics of some fish and turtles.
Visitors to the centers also explored the contents of owl pellets (what did that owl just eat?), how to use recycling to make rich soil, and making a bird feeder from pine cones, peanut butter and seeds.
When evening fell, the campfire was a great place to warm up, enjoy some conversation and sing songs with principal Mike Sternig. The luminary walk was also an exciting way to enjoy nature at night.
Many thanks to the PAC and the LacLawrann staff and volunteers for making it possible to enjoy an evening of fun.
